John
John has always wanted to live in a different country, specifically in Europe (since visiting with Steve in 2006). One of his friends and a past coworker at Rockwell Collins works at a company in Stans Switzerland, called Pilatus Aircraft. This past fall he told John of the current job opportunity and John applied for a job. A few weeks later they offered a position as an avionics and electrical systems engineer. John can't wait to go mountain biking, hiking, road biking, learn a new culture/language, and possibly ride along in a PC-21.
Kim
Kim also has been interested in living in a different country for a few years. She has been a physical therapist for two years and initially she was hesitant to pause her career to move to another country, but eventually decided it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to move to Switzerland. She studied German for four years in High School and is hopeful that she might be able to learn it enough to practice physical therapy in Switzerland. She also is looking forward to exploring the mountains via snowshoes/hiking shoes/running shoes/road bike/anything, spending lots of time with Hannah, traveling around Europe, and hopefully entertaining lots of visitors :)!!
Hannah
Our daughter Hannah was born on July 30, 2012 and our lives have been forever changed. Hannah loves going on family runs, watching Bear's every move, playing with toys (or should I say putting toys in her mouth), and sleeping. Hannah is excited about the move to Switzerland and the opportunity to try riding up a mountain on dad's back.
Bear
Our dog Bear is our first child. He's a lively Australian Shepherd mix and definitely a bit of a daddy's boy. Until now, running at Lake MacBride has been his absolute favorite activity but he has skeptically accepted our promise that the mountains of Switzerland will be a sufficient replacement. He started practicing "Hallo, mein Name ist Bär der Hund," but is worried that the Swiss ladies will get confused. We think they'll figure it out... obviously he is still unsure of his new backpack.
